The role covers a wide range of responsibilities that include overseeing financial reporting, SOX compliance, implementing financial technology solutions, overseeing treasury and cash management functions, and collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of streamlined processes and procedures within the finance/accounting department, aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing operational risks, and improving overall function.
  • Strengthening and maintaining the SOX compliance framework. Work with the CFO to oversee the design, testing, and enhancement of internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring adherence to audit and regulatory standards.
  • Further the development of standardized templates for recurring activities (e.g., investment allocations/funding activity) and create checklists to ensure operating effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Oversee integration of new finance software solutions. Ensure data migration accuracy, including investment portfolio data, and implement automated workflows.
  • Oversee the company’s treasury function including daily cash management, as well as coordinating short-term liquidity requirements and support business operations.
  • Oversee the allocation of asset fundings across investment portfolios to align with the company’s policies and internal controls.
  • Oversee board and audit committee material preparation. Support the CFO in crafting clear messaging for analyst/investor calls and public reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO on capital raising activities, including support scenario modeling, assistance with due diligence materials, investor communications, evaluating liquidity requirements and the preparation of financial disclosures.
  • Monitor technical accounting policies, identify emerging industry issues, and keep current on accounting or other regulatory rule changes impacting the Company.
  • Guiding the preparation of GAAP financial statements, quarterly regulatory financial filings, and required tax filings while delivering critical insights that improve the transparency of the financial reporting.
  • Review and analyze the monthly financial results to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly financial close process.
  • Assist the audit and tax teams on quarterly reviews, annual audit, and tax return filings.
  • Mentor team members, provide training and professional development to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • Minimum of 10 years previous experience in public accounting and experience in a similar role at a BDC or private credit asset manager
  • CPA required and MBA/MACC preferred
  • Successful experience in a similar role in a listed public company
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations as applicable to 40 Act vehicles
  • Deep understanding of SOX controls processes and testing
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, attention to detail, and enjoys fast paced work environment

  • Ability to sit, stand, talk, utilize a computer, and read computer screens for extended periods of time
  • Maintain consistent, repetitive motion for data entry (typing/clicking)
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
