We are looking for an experienced professional to join our world-class team as an Operations and Credit Analyst in San Diego. This is an exciting opportunity with a rapidly growing, publicly traded company, where you’ll play a key role in driving operational efficiencies, supporting credit underwriting, and integrating AI solutions across the business unit.

Job Description

The Operations and Credit Analyst will support general operations workflow across the business unit, with a specific focus on driving workflow efficiencies, reporting structures and integration of artificial intelligence (“AI”) solutions. Additionally, this role will support credit underwriting and due diligence for prospective portfolio companies, with a focus on sponsor finance structures. This role involves analyzing collateral, borrower performance, and cash flow across a variety of industries, and contributing to credit memos and business cases supporting financing transactions. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role requires close collaboration with other team members and contributing to presentations for the Investment Committee.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the team to support operations workflow and reporting.  Drive new operational efficiency initiatives around integration of AI to automate workflow.
  • Interface closely with underwriting deal teams to obtain the materials necessary to commence the due diligence process for prospective portfolio companies.
  • Collect and review submitted data from prospective portfolio companies; work with deal teams to address any gaps or deficiencies.
  • Prepare initial rating sheet for prospective companies.
  • Evaluate and summarize financial data from prospective portfolio companies and present summary analysis to the Due Diligence team.
  • Conduct deep dive financial analyses as required, under the direction of manager.
  • Support the presentation of analysis results to the due diligence core team and Investment Committee in a clear and concise manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline, preferably Finance
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in direct lending, asset valuation, or a related analytical role at a bank or financial institution
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis and basic financial modeling
  • Working knowledge of credit facility structures and lending workflows within sponsor finance
  • General understanding of business operations across functions such as sales, marketing, product development, and production
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail

Desired Requirements

  • Progress toward or completion of an MBA or MS Finance
  • Exposure to asset-based lending facilities, including reporting, monitoring, or collateral analysis
  • Experience interfacing with internal stakeholders and external advisors, including attorneys
  • Familiarity with capital structures, including venture equity and other financing instruments

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, talk, utilize a computer, and read computer screens for extended periods of time
  • Maintain consistent, repetitive motion for data entry (typing/clicking)
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Minimum travel expected (approximately <5%)

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 – 100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses and restricted stock awards.
