Jacob Steele serves as Deputy General Counsel, Corporate at Trinity Capital. His experience in corporate governance, SEC and Nasdaq compliance, capital markets, and mergers & acquisitions helps keep Trinity on track.
Prior to Trinity, Jacob served as Associate General Counsel & Assistant Secretary at StepStone Group, a global private markets investment firm. While at StepStone, Jacob was responsible for corporate and securities matters, including SEC reporting, public company compliance, M&A and corporate governance. Before joining StepStone, Jacob represented public and private companies in corporate governance, capital markets, securities regulation, and M&A at Latham & Watkins LLP in San Diego and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Washington, DC.
Jacob received his BA from Point Loma Nazarene University and his JD from The George Washington University Law School, with highest honors. He is admitted to practice law in California.
Jacob and his wife have four children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, and exploring fun cities.
